Apac District Chairperson applauds Kayunga District leadership during the benchmarking visit to the District

Apac District Leadership led by the District Chairperson and Speaker had a benchmark visit to Kayunga District Local Government.

The visit focused on sharing experience and performance in the two Districts in similar activities. Apac leaders identified Kayunga base on her performance within a short period of existence compared to Apac that have been in existence from 1974.

The delegates focused on the following areas to benchmark on;

1.     Revenue performance with reflection on Departmental contribution.

The Deputy RDC Apac handed over a theatre for Akokoro HC IV.

The Deputy RDC Ms. Joan Apio has handed over the theatre constructed for Akokoro HC IV by UPDF engineering brigade funded by Government of Uganda through Ministry of Health. 

During the handover, the Deputy RDC encouraged the Akokoro HC IV In-charge to put the Theatre in to good use. Women should be supported to during delivery, and should be well maintained, she said.

She added that the construction is being given to UPDF brigade to avoid corruption in the procurement processes in the Local Governments.

Office of the RDC Apac Launches 7Km Road Rehabilitation worth 1.2billion.

The Assistant RDC Ms. Florence Acuma has launched construction of 7Kms road connecting Sub counties of Apac and Apoi.

The road stretches from Atopi – Anyapo – Ayeng with the budget worth 1.2 billion shillings. The road is to be constructed with funding from the National Oil Seed Project (NOSP) within 8 months contracted to Don-Mo contractors.

UCC Donates Over 100 Tablets to Residents of Akuli B in Apac Sub County

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) under the supervision from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance on Thursday 6th February 2025, donated tablets under Universal Service Access Fund (USAF)to the residents of Akuli B village in Apac Sub-county.

The tablets distributed were the Government’s pilot project aimed at bridging the connectivity and access to information gap in underserved communities. The preloaded data tablets were given together with solar panels to facilitate charging.

Apac leaders advised sensitize community members about Laws and applicability

The Judicial Service Commission as mandated by the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda to prepare and implement programmes for education and sensitization of the public organized a workshop on Law and Administration of Justice in Uganda at the District Hall.

The Deputy Registrar at JSC, Faridah Semyano told leaders that there are a lot that the Commission can do to help communities in Judicial seek and proceedings but they are unaware. There is need to sensitize the leaders who can cascade the information to their electorates so that we create harmony among us.

RDC Abudul bids farewell to Apac leaders

The outgoing resident District Commissioner Abudul George hands over Office on 2nd September, 2024.

In his report the Commissioner hinted on a number of successes he achieved and challenges which he encouraged his predecessor to take it up.

The RDC said Apac has been a District of gaining much experience in handling tasks. He has learned a lot during his time at the District and this has been his turning point.

Outgoing RDC applauds Apac Leaders for the support rendered during his time at the District

Speaking during the Council sitting as the Distinguish guest, Abudul George- the departing Resident District Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the Councilors and Technical staff for the spiritual, emotional and intellectual support given to him at the District.

"I am leaving Apac as different person compared to when I came here because I have grown into a much better person," Abudul said.
