Apac District Disseminates Lower Local Government Performance Assessment Report

Apac District Local Government has successfully disseminated the Lower Local Government (LLG) Performance Assessment Report to district and LLG stakeholders, highlighting the performance of the various lower local governments and identifying areas requiring improvement.

According to the assessment results, Ibuje Sub-county emerged as the best-performing LLG with 96 points, followed by Ibuje Town Council, which scored 92 points. Akokoro Sub-county registered the lowest score of 54 points, followed by Teboke Sub-county with 60 points.

Speaking during the dissemination exercise, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO), Mr. Yusuf Akubonabona, urged leaders of the lower local governments to take performance assessments seriously, noting that the results have significant implications for resource allocation and the district's resource envelope.

Mr. Akubonabona emphasized that performance assessments should not merely be treated as routine administrative exercises but as important tools for measuring institutional performance, identifying gaps, and improving service delivery. He encouraged leaders of poorly performing lower local governments to learn from their high-performing counterparts by consulting and sharing experiences, best practices, and strategies that contribute to improved performance.

He further called upon LLG leaders to embrace teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement to strengthen their administrative capacities and ensure effective implementation of government programs.

The dissemination exercise provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review the performance of the respective lower local governments, appreciate areas of achievement, and identify challenges that require urgent attention.

The assessment results are expected to guide lower local government leaders in improving their performance, strengthening accountability, and enhancing service delivery to communities across Apac District.
