APAC DISTRICT LEADERSHIP COMMISSIONS UGX 883 MILLION NEWLY UPGRADED AGANGA HEALTH CENTRE III

Apac, Uganda — The leadership of Apac District Local Government has officially commissioned the newly upgraded Aganga Health Centre III, a project worth over UGX 883 million, aimed at improving healthcare delivery and bringing quality medical services closer to the people.
The upgraded facility, funded under the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers (UG-IFT) Program, now boasts modern infrastructure, expanded maternity and outpatient departments, staff housing, and improved sanitation facilities. This development is expected to ease pressure on Apac General Hospital and ensure better access to primary healthcare for thousands of residents in Aganga Parish and the surrounding communities.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Principal Assistant Secretary, Ms. Janet Odongo, applauded the Government of Uganda and development partners for their support in strengthening health systems at the grassroots. She urged the community to take full ownership of the facility, ensure its proper maintenance, and embrace preventive health practices.
The District Chairperson, Hon. Ikomba Asanti Odongo, commended the efforts of the Ministry of Health in prioritizing rural health infrastructure, adding that the upgraded Aganga HC III is a great milestone in reducing maternal and child mortality and improving overall service delivery in Apac.
Community members, local leaders, and health workers expressed joy and pledged their commitment to safeguarding the facility and utilizing it responsibly for the betterment of public health.
The Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Andrew Onyuk Officially commissioned the facility and urged the staff at the facility to carry out their duties diligently and with a lot of commitment.
The commissioning of Aganga HC III adds to ongoing government efforts to improve health infrastructure across the country, in line with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the National Development Plan.
